HERSHEY FAMILY HISTORY

This book is about the Hershey family of Christian Hershey, the first Hershey to arrive in American in 1709. He was born in Switzerland in 1664. Christian and his family settled in what was to become Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The family line outlined in this book follows down from (1) Christian Hershey, (2) Benjamin Hershey, (3) Christian Hershey, (4) Isaac Hershey who built the Hershey Homestead, (5) Rev. Samuel Hershey, (6) Samuel Harnish Hershey (first cousin of Milton S. Hershey), (7) Samuel Mark Hershey and to (8) Gladys Elizabeth Hershey, who was born 1918. In 1938 Gladys Elizabeth Hershey married Donald Irwin Jr. Their children are the 9th generation: Donald Irwin III, Susan Irwin Smart, Janet Irwin Hershey, Andrew Scott Irwin and Sally Irwin Burgess.
