A Fantastic read. The detailed descriptions of growing up and then revisiting Kenya as an adult transport you to that place. The story is peppered with accounts relating to family members and others all are beautifully written either tugging on the heartstrings or making you laugh. Interwoven with the story of the authors life there are philosophical observations and comments on environmental issues. As a record of an interesting family and a life being well led -hard to beat.

A heart warming and beautifully written story about Andi and her family's life in colonial Kenya (and beyond). She and I were friends at Kenya High School and I am full of admiration for her achievement in getting the book written and published. Our Kenya upbringing was both similar and very different and I loved reading her story. As well as the Kenya connection I would strongly recommend it to anyone who is interested in family history or just enjoys a jolly good read
