By: Saranna DeWylde with The Blackened Quill... Van Scoyoc creates a rich tapestry of intrigue and Gothic ambiance in The Grounds of Nachmasheeghan. A gripping story of one family's seeming destruction, but the love they hold for one another even through madness and death. It's easy to get lost in their dark world. What I enjoyed most about this book was that it seemed as if there was always either redemption or damnation around the next corner, but none of the characters strayed off of the path to grab at either. That's a solid reflection of reality, often though we are looking for both, it's hard to see what's to the sides of the path when living day to day has become such a challenge. I look forward to reading the next two books in the series.
