This is a BA (Hons) dissertation that focuses on income and consumer behaviour of homosexuals in comparison to heterosexuals. The author conducted a survey to analyse if homosexuals and especially gays earn more money than heterosexuals and if there are any sexual orientation specific consumer patterns.
The research questions were:
Does personal income of gay men differ from heterosexual men's and if so, can the reasons be found?
Are there gay typical patterns on how the money is spent?
What role does the internet play in gay consumption?
How can – and do – companies take advantage of these specific patterns?
This dissertation has been awarded as first class with 79 % and the dissertation price of the University of Central Lancashire, United Kingdom in 2006.
