Die Ostfront is the story of a German Tiger tank company, sent to the Eastern front in the fall of 1942. Their Panzers are brand new weapons, almost right off the drawing board. The Russians were very unprepared to meet a tank of such ferocity and impenetrability. Almost no gun they posses can destroy the Tiger. It truly is the king of the battlefield. Helmut Sperber is barely twenty-four when he takes command of his first Tiger. His comrades, Wünsche and Eishertz, are also volunteers for service in the experimental unit. Throughout the winter, they quickly learn that Russia is hell on earth. Death and destruction mark their path, as they are sent south to Stalingrad. The infamous battle for Stalingrad has just begun. In that small section of southern Russia, the fate of the entire war is being decided. At first, they fight to prove the worth of the Tiger tank before the German High Command. Then they fight to prove themselves.
