A collection of figure paintings by Philadelphia-based painter and cartoonist, Andrew Hoffmann. Drawn with compressed charcoal and painted with varying quantities of wet and dry gouache, Hoffmann’s portraits are reminiscent of German expressionism. His inspirations include the works of Claes Oldenburg, Egon Schiele, Georgia O’Keefe, Degas, and Toulouse-Lautrec. Each of the portraits are of models who have posed at The Plastic Club, an artists’ club in Philadelphia.
