A Review of VR by Scott Pack from "Me and My Big Mouth" blog. "I meet authors in the most unlikely of places! Last year at Dads Into School day I got chatting to the father of someone in Ethan's class and it turned out that he had published a book on Naturally I said I'd like to give it a read and then promptly forgot about it. The subject would come up each time we bumped into each other in the playground but it took nearly a year for the two of us to actually click the couple of buttons needed to get the manuscript from his computer to mine. Anyway, we got it sorted in the end. And you know what? It is really rather good. It is called VR by Andy Lancaster and is a kids' book for the 8-12 age group. Vic Rostrun gets sucked into a Tron-like world of virtual reality when his computer is struck by lightning. It is one of those great books for both sexes that never patronises its audience, instead offering a knowing wink in all the right places. It doesn't... More > take itself too seriously but is a rip-roaring adventure that ticks all the right boxes for children's fiction. It would be well worth some children's publishers checking it out as Andy is definitely an author to watch." Review originally posted at:< Less
