Just finished this book and it was one of those books you just cannot put down once you have started reading it. I learned so much and I feel so humbled and honored to have been taken into Anette and Martin's world which consisted of an abundance of love and endurance - more than the average human being can imagine! Whether you're a parent or not, you can and will learn so much from this book as it deals with how to not succumb to a huge curve ball thrown into your life - and in this case a curve ball which will force you to deviate from your life dreams. This book generated so many feelings in me - shock, inspiration, awe, disbelief, fatique (on behalf of Anette) and a whole new appreciation of human resilence and love.

By Holly Kobayashi We all imagine what if our lives were different? Anette Urban's life was very different. Anette had a profound and life-altering experience. Her son could have died at any moment; death visited him relentlessly. He lived, however, until the age of 17, with her at his side. We feel her anger. We hurt when she hurts. We struggle and grieve right along side of her, and we heal together.
