"The Part of Fortune" Ann writes about her own experience, but you recognise yourself in it, and find an ally in Ann. The poet's gift is to express your history in ways you cannot do yourself, and Ann is very gifted in this way.
"The Part of Fortune" Wow! This is one of the best books of poetry I've ever read! These are poems that are beautifully crafted and haunting. My favorite is Epitaph for a Merchant Marine, which is a tough, in-your-face look at a man who lived life to the fullest. This is an author not afraid to speak her mind--and what a creative and original mind it is! The author won a major poetry prize, and I can see why. I hope to see more poetry by Ann Sanfedele in the future.
