The Artist as Leader Programme is a partnership between academic
research and practice. The programme explores the experience of artists
in relationship to the concept of leadership: the artist is sometimes an
organisational leader, but may sometimes lead in other ways. Drawing on a network of artists, leaders of arts organisations, and cultural policy
makers, The Artist as Leader Research Report sets out the policy context
in which artists are working, and develops three scenarios which
describe the ways in which artists lead through the practice of art.
