Excellent book I really enjoyed it , Training as a nurse is not what I imagined it to be not for the faint hearted that's for sure lots of personal anecdotes and situations that made me laugh and some that made me cry and some that made my blood boil. A well balanced story about her life as a nurse and some very nice reminiscing of her colleagues and some personal reflections on some difficult situations she found herself in. A very honest book and refreshing to read ,full of wit and integrity with a dash of bitter sweet moments and joyful endeavour.

This book is definitely a great wee read. It is very engaging as the writer's narrative gives you, the reader, a glimpse of the daily life in the nursing profession. I like the way some medical terms are casually used which is very educational for non-medically inclined people but surely and even fondly relatable to many health workers. Some of the characters still portray humour despite the challenging environment they work in, and making patients smile amidst their own struggles and worries. It makes you more appreciative of the efforts the nurses put into their work on a daily basis. I happily recommend this wee book to other readers.

I found this book, a great wee read. I especially liked the journey you go through as the writer describes the daily life of her fellow nurses, the obstacles and situations they face whilst working in a nursing capacity. Annie’s narrative voice is wonderful, as she is serious at times, but also very witty, which makes for an engaging read. Making it feel very real. I especially loved the Scottish expressions, words and descriptions of life in Scotland, they made me giggle. Her emotions and dialogue are so very genuine. I would recommend this book to other readers.
