Comrades of Deceit, by Anthony Hulse, is an intense reminder of the brutality of World War II, and the inhuman conditions captured prisoners of war suffered in Nazi POW camps. The author has done his research well, and breathes truth into a part of history that many prefer to forget. This book is basically a murder mystery, and a good one. Hulse expertly weaves it in and around events that take place during World War II. The locations and action of the story line are not only accurate, but brilliantly portrayed. Generally, I pride myself on my ability to figure out how most books end…but this one had me stymied. The method in which Hulse brought the story to a close pleasantly surprised me. I wanted the book to go on. Comrades of Deceit is a book I recommend to everyone and I give it five stars.
