I finished the book last night. I’m sorry it’s over. Thanks so much for such a good read and for allowing us to share in your life and relive wonderful memories. I enjoyed every second of it...I love how you write. It's such an easy comfortable style and a pleasure to read. Again, thanks for the memories. Cecilia Misa Wesport, CT Tony, two of those 107 copies were bought by yours truly, one for me and one for Hal Wingo, executive editor of People, who is now living in Santa Fe. A lively book, indeed. Dick Stolley-Founding Editor of People Magazine Senior Editorial Advisor of Time Inc. "You magnificent bastard, I read your book". If this sounds familiar, you probably remember George C. Scott's ( Patton) quote after he strategically defeated Rommel in a significant WWII battle. Well I finally finished your book on my current ( the third) trip to Tallinn, Estonia and it was excellent. And I expect to be notified immediately of your future demise so that Carol and I can attend... More > your funeral personally. Hopefully it will be a long time coming for both of us. Tiit Gentalen Worldwide Marketing Information Director (retired) TIME Magazine What a read!! I read your book over two days right after getting it. I enjoyed it so very much. You revealed yourself -- an honest, courageous, principled, industrious, tenacious, and VERY humorous survivor. Congratulations! You have a lovely family and I enjoyed the stories about "old" New York. Chris Friedrich, Marketing Consultant Well, after many of weeks of Sudoko and several other distractions, I finished your book this week. It was thoroughly enjoyable for me, a product of Astoria and LIC High School. I could relate to many of your experiences on other levels as well, being a spouse, parent, bike rider, traveler, etc. Writing your memoirs no doubt met a need that you had to keep busy and to provide a treasure which can be kept in your family forever. Congratulations on this accomplishment. ... I "failed" retirement and returned to BCC part time to revitalize Alumni Relations and remained for three years with an office in Gould Memorial Library which is shown on page 46 of your book. Memoirs... contained your struggles and triumphs, mixing serious and humorous comments along the way. Glimpses of your life in media research and related positions were interesting. Your book gave insight into your values and, in that regard, I liked reading your tributes to Jackie Robinson, Denise Harris and your mother-in-law, Mildred Manniello Rosi. Your love of baseball is a strong theme. I learned that there is a relationship between my personality flaws and my loyalty as a Yankee fan. I am not sure which was the cause and which the effect, but it doesn't really matter. I am so comfortable with the flaws and the Yankees that I'm inclined to hang on to them. I've noted the book signing at the Tappan Library on the evening of 9/25, and will be there if possible. Perhaps you will sign my LIC Yearbook then too, since I failed to track you down in 1956. Dr. Ingrid Moberg DeCicco I was waiting for Karen to read your book as well. We both thought it was great! Your sarcastic sense of humor came through very well. Walter MCCullough, CEO Monroe Mendelsohn Research, Inc. I just finished your autobiography and wanted to weigh in. What a GREAT read! Of course, having lived thru the early chapters and even being mentioned, was very special. You have had a life of the highest highs and the lowest lows. You have a beautiful family in every way. I wish you many many more wonderful years and trips. Pat Caggiano-Dallas, Texas Completely enjoying your book so far. Except for one thing— I had to wait until the end of the first chapter to get to the profanity I was promised— I love the f-bomb! Phil Ribaudo, Author The Road Letters< Less

Wow, Anthony, what a great read. Once I started I couldn't put it down. "Memoirs..." brings back many memories of PS4, LICHS and later my own daily drive into Manhattan and the rat race. Mrs. Nagin, Mr. Brickman, Mrs. Mulvehill ... great recall. I also remember Mr. Taite(sp?), a very refined gentleman, always impeccably dressed he would constantly check his gold vest pocket watch. I was sure he was checking so he didn't miss his train. I'm glad to see that despite at times a challenging life, you've managed to keep that big smile and sense of humor. I remember that sense of humor at PS4 after one of our fellow students delivered a oral report and the teacher, I want to believe it was Mrs. Nagin, asked for comments. Evidently you did not like the story or disagreed so you raised your hand, stood and proclaimed sarcastically: "Great story, but what does that have to do with the price of eggs in Afghanistan? The class went into an uproar and i'm sure I heard Mrs. Nagin... More > bellow: "Motta, you're a tough nut, but i'm going to crack you!" Coincidentally, one evening at dinner in Alaska and prior to reading your book, we discussed the web site "Classmates" and reminisced, recalling a very short list of LICHS alumni. Among those names were you and Ingrid Moberg, who I noticed read and commented on your book as well. I also sent a copy of "Memoirs..." to another alumni (the "we" in the above "we discussed") who, i'm sure you will hear from after he reads your book. Again, thanks for a very entertaining read.
