"Queensland Ringer by Antony Agar" The characters in this book really come alive. A brilliant picture is painted of them and the country in which they live and work. The reader will identify with this young man and his pleasure at experiencing life in the vast open spaces while being called upon to use his ingenuity, commonsense and strength of character. He faces new situations, gains new skills and rises to the challenges with humour and patience. It is a good story well told.

"Queensland Ringer" A delightful read. This book vividly captures a time and place in a heartwarming story of a young man's journey into adulthood; told with wry wit and insight. Hard to put down.

"Queensland Ringer" This book is a brilliant evocation of the Australian outback in the 1950's - you can almost smell and taste it! I liked the depiction of Eric's struggles with his family to do what they regard as a menial occupation, but the author shows through other eyes the respect and admiration of others for the difficult and skilful job which these men do. If you likes Nevil Shute's 'A town like Alice' and 'In the Wet', you will love this.
