"Delusional" I don't know who taught this guy logic. His so-called refutation of Occam's Razor is absurd. He claims that because Occam's Razor can't be used to solve the following equation: 4 + X = 7 that it is therefore an invalid concept everywhere. That is the same as saying the following: Water is wet. 4 + X = 7 We do not need to know that water is wet to solve this equation. Therefore, we have just proven that water is not wet. I would also assert that his argument is invalid by this line of reasoning: X is an unknown value. 4 + X = 7 We may consider everything as a possible value for X, including (a) all integers (b) all real numbers (c) all complex numbers (d) divine intervention Of all of the possible values for X, the simplest is (a). Using the set of all integers as possible values, we come up with the value of 3. It was not necessary to invoke options (b), (c), or (d). Therefore, we DID use Occam's Razor to solve this problem. That makes his claim to the... More > contrary false, thus invalidating his argument. Some religious people are so insecure in their beliefs, that they find it necessary to prove to the non-believers that God does, in fact, exist (thus, subconsciously proving it to themselves). There is nothing wrong with faith. Faith does not need proof. The supernatural cannot be proven by science, because science restricts itself to the natural world. This author uses the remaining half of the book to try to prove God's existence. Since his argument is based on a logical fallacy, he has failed to make his case. P.S. He really needs to use a spell checker before publishing this stuff.< Less
