I will start with the bottom line, get this book and design your letters based on the instructions if you want to get more interviews. These guidelines worked for me and I think they are essential for any letter writer or applicants helping with writing the letters.

I recommend this book though small but it made my letters shine. The first look at the letters is the first impression the directors get and thankfully I got this book which gives details on how to format the letters. Good luck everybody.

These letters I developed after reading this book are definitely way better than any letters I wrote in the past. More interviews were coming to my students than in the past. I recommend this book for chairmen and faculty writing letters for residency applicants.

I was hesitant initially buying this book. Looking backward I think I did the correct decision buying it. Definitely my students are getting more interviews in family medicine. I think the way the authors put their advices in this book came from deep experience in the field. Am not even getting single complain from directors as used before about missing information. Overall am very satisfied with this book, thank you.

Now I have a better idea how to write these letters. In the past I used to get lot of complains from program directors regarding incomplete information in the letters I write for our department rotators. I will use this as a template especially the helpful instructions there make the composition easier. I think the way they divided the paragraphs and the information in each one make a lot of sense. I recommend it for instructors writing letters for their students, I hope this will result in more interviews for my people as well.
