The year is 2230 and young Violet MacRae is already obsolete. In a world where war is a distant memory and only brilliant minds are valued, she's emerging into adulthood with more brawn than brains and a hell of a temper. That might come in handy though as someone's coming to kill her.
Violet will discover that her peaceful world is more fragile than anyone thought, and only an underground of outcasts like her maintain the balance. She'll enter a tangled web of secrets and slaughter, technology and genetics gone insane, super-advanced spycraft and no shortage of ultra-violence. It should suit her just fine, if she can survive.
Valhalla is a hard science fiction novel that blends epic action and unparalleled vision into a future as beautiful as it is brutal.

This is a must read for everyone!!! It grabbed my attention and I couldn't put it down! Loads of adventure and fun. This is a wonderful combination of love, science fiction and adventure. What more could you ask for!
Finally! An intelligent modern hard-sci-fi novel that's worth my rare reading time: fast, darkly humorous, and stylishly violent ala Quentin Tarantino. What a pleasure! Having come of age reading sci-fi in the 50'/60's, I rarely finish most of what I read these days; I just don't have the patience for mediocre writing anymore. No problem here: this one reads fast and is hard to put down. Despite my being a grey-hair, I like this form of stylized violence -- I'd like to see this one in a movie. And thankfully, there are no gaping plotholes or stupid character illogic, and the entire world/universe isn't at stake -- it just comes out a slightly better place for the moment. 'Nuff said.
