There was a storm brewing on the island, but something worse was infusing in Cole’s mind. He’d known Jade for many years, but she was off limits. She'd always liked him, but he'd never given her a second look before that morning, when a simple morning sail turned bad, leaving them stranded on an island. At first Cole tried to comfort her fears, but then he became one of them, keeping her captive.
Cole’s jail term was the price he paid for his crimes against her, and he came out a changed man. He assumed Jade was now married to another man. He had her in his heart, but he promised himself he’d leave her be.
Jade’s life however, had taken a turn for the worst. A damaging relationship, and a lack of money, threw her and her young son into the streets, ultimately leading her into the dark world of a bad drug addiction.

"Captive" Reviewed by: Tina Lighthouse Literary Reviews 4 beacons I think this story entitled Captive was very detailed and extremely suspenseful and I really enjoyed the read. GhostWriters Literary Reviews Cole Benton had everything a man could want… money, women, and the freedom to live as he pleased. He was a womanizer. He was also a successful attorney who, in a moment of unreasonable insanity, made one vital mistake that changed him from an egotistical ladies man, into someone he wasn’t aware existed within him. Jade had to learn this the hard way. She’d loved him since the tender age of fifteen and always dreamed of being with him. The years that passed made Cole see her as a woman he desired, not one he would violate. He tarnished the friendship they shared. Despite his inexcusable behavior, a series of events brought them back together. Although she found forgiveness for him, she had to learn to forgive herself, but Cole's old ways resurfaced in a one-night stand,... More > and Jade was left to pay for his mistake. I must admit that I believed this book was going to be one of the typical ‘old friends meet up, grow up and break up’ stories, but I was taken totally by surprise. The unexpected events left me speechless. I enjoyed this read. It was an interesting page-turner for me. 5 stars< Less
