This little book is part autobiographical, but the principal part is how an expat Korean sees the Western world he has lived in for over half a century. Some quite personal observations are made on France, Japan, Russia, USA and others through personal contacts and news events. Some remarks can be viewed as provocative, which is what the author intended. They are always backed by historically documented facts. Another major aspects of the book deal with the difference between the East and the West regarding Arts, Music, Religious practices etc.. Some ideas presented might surprise some readers. But then it was also what the author wished to do: engage the curiosity of Western readers. From this point of view this modest work deserves a wider readership.
