Augustus "Pop" Cole lived in Springfield, Vermont throughout the first half of the twentieth century. In 1949 and 1950, when Pop was in his eighties, the local newspaper, the Springfield Reporter, published a series of stories written by Pop Cole. The published stories, along with several others taken from typed manuscripts kept by the family are presented here along with illustrations and one poem. This collection was edited by Pop's Great-Great-Grandson, Travis Smith ,who also provides a short introduction.
