The Pursuit of God is one of A.W. Tozer’s best-loved works. It is a genuine Christian classic, and a useful guide for anyone seeking to pursue a closer relationship with God.
Tozer was one of the most eloquent champions of the Christian faith in the 20th century. With clarity and gentle humor, he looked at the human condition through the lens of God’s Word and reported to us what he saw.
Tozer was fond of saying, "I refuse to allow any man to put his glasses on me and force me to see everything in his light."
A pastor, lecturer, and prolific writer, he pastored the Southside Alliance Church in Chicago from 1928 to 1959, then spent his final years pastoring the Avenue Road (Alliance) Church in Toronto, Canada.
In 1950, he was appointed editor of the Alliance Weekly magazine, the official publication of The Christian & Missionary Alliance, and almost immediately doubled its circulation. It was commented at the time that it was the only magazine people subscribed to for the editorials.
