"The Governor's Daughter" is a story of three generations of women steeped in the history of the Caribbean Island of St. Thomas; the story of Lanni, an Island Native who influences all three women by bringing her rich heritage and island proverbs into their world. It is also a novel of tragedy and betrayal, of loyalty and passion. But above all this is a love story, of a seven-year old child who is inextricably drawn to one man for a lifetime.

"The Governor's Daughter" Excellent reading! I am an avid reader and read a variety of authors (Nora Roberts, J.K. Rowling, Danielle Steele, Stephen King, Catherine Cookson, Dianna Gabaldon to name just a few). One of the best stories I have read in a long time. The kind of book you are sad to see end. The author makes you feel like you know the characters personally and you become a part of their lives. Love the way the author completed the stories on all the characters. Can't wait for the next book from this author!

"Great Book!" I loved this book! I agree with previous review, did not want this book to end. You really get to know the characters and look forward to the different stages of their lives. The author describes the scenes in such great detail, you feel like you're right there! I look forward to another book by the author. Kim Maxson, CT

"The Governors' Daughter" Hello Barbara. May I introduce myself? My name is Marlene Stevens. I am Nora Walden's sister and it was through her that I came to borrow Natalie Maxson's copy of your book. I am an avid reader. There is never a time when a book is far from my hand. I read many authors, including Nora Lofts, Nora Roberts, and Maeve Binchey. I can truthfully tell you that I enjoyed your book as much as any I have ever read. The story was wonderful. The characters were interesting, and the action kept those pages turning. I was sorry to finish the book because I wondered what I would read next that would be as enjoyable. Thank you for a wonderful few days of living in the world of the Governor's Daughter. I am sure this book has given pleasure to everyone who has read it.
