After more than two years of mourning my husband’s passing, I decided to gather all of the poems I had written about him from before and after he passed away. When I discussed this with my family, we all agreed this should be a memorial to him. So I have picked all the poems I wrote about our meeting, our marriage, our children, his illness and finally the bulk of them I wrote after he was gone. While he was alive, we had this joke that I would probably forget him when he was no longer here because of my poor memory. That is why I have titled the book, You’ll Probably Forget Me: Living With and Without Hal.

Mar 3, 2018Barbara Ehrentreu is a dynamic and expressive writer that blends her life and writing talents in this meaningful book. It is a great book, full of loss and the accompanying emotional roller coaster and finding peace in spite of such troubling events, it is a book of a survivor yes, but also a book of precious memories too. This would make a wonderful addition to any private library , buy it, you'll see !
Jul 18, 2017Barbara Ehrentreu is a fabulous writer who I have come to know through our mutual work and professional interactions. The true story that she has shared in this marvelous book, as told through her beautiful narrative poetry, is both compelling, beautiful, emotional, and life affirming. Having read this book, I not only learned the story of a dear couples' mutual love and respect, but gathered so very much insight into how and why great relationships work, and how the end of such can be something so ordinary, sad, yet epic and in the end leaves one breathless to see the next chapter in Barbara's life.
Oct 4, 2016A book about the struggle and survival of a woman who suddenly experienced, after years of a wonderful marriage, what it meant to really be alone again and how frightening her world had become, faced with sorrow and unfamiliar loneliness. Let me highlight some upon Barbara Ehrentreu's book: Barbara Ehrentreu's wonderful Poetry Book, YOU'LL PROBABLY FORGET ME: LIVING WITH AND WITHOUT HAL, is the true life and times biographical story of a special love and marriage . . . and then when the Loss came as her beloved husband Hal went to Heaven, how Barbara Ehrentreu coped day to day learning to live and be strong again without the love of her life and partner. The journey is one you shall never forget. A book that will bring tears to your eyes, so heartwarming. I cried through the entire book as I was preparing it for publication. ~ A story very compelling, and just as equally powerful !!! Written with genuine sensitivity and realism of someone thrown into a foreign situation where they... More > truly must face a brand new world ............... ALONE. I'm proud to know Barbara ..... and call her a friend. She has come through the other side and I'm sure Hal is looking down and very proud if her, too. And no, Barb, HAL DID NOT forget you!!! I recommend this book to anyone who has ever lost a beloved one ... follow Barbara Ehrentreu's breakthrough to find happiness again within herself and life outside of her Soulmate ... a book that I totally believe will help many learn that there is life at the end of a long and dark tunnel of sorrow and darkness to once again see the light and remember there is a reason to once again open your heart to smile once more.< Less
