The Wake Up And Dream Challenge is more than a self-help book. Using vivid stories Dr. Barbara Lavi, clinical psychologist, shows how clients transformed their lives. At any age, rich or poor, healthy or physically challenged this book will start you on a path to transform your life. Originally, the author's intent was to write a self-help book about the innovative techniques she developed over the course of her career. When she used her own Dream Positioning System (DPS), the book became part of her dream legacy, a book that can change the world. Dr. Lavi challenges you to help her "Dream It Forward!" She created an everyman's version of the Bill & Melinda Gates & Warren Buffet's Giving Pledge. Dr. Lavi will donate half of the profits to 21 creative nonprofit organizations to improve the lives of countless individuals. This version of the book will benefit all 21 organizations. Mar 13, 2012This book really helped wake me up in ways I never would have expected. I learned that instead of thinking about my goals and never achieving them, there are ways and distinct techniques using the Dream Positioning System to make sure nothing is unobtainable. Dr. Barbara Lavi is a great writer and makes you feel like you are listening to a good friend that is giving you advice. Self help books are usually very similar in the approaches they take, but "The Wake Up and Dream Challenge" is not one of these at all. It brings forth new knowledge and concrete examples on how to change your life today. You won't put it down!
Feb 26, 2012Although I am an intern helping with the book, I felt compelled to write a review of my own. I am a psychology/English student struggling to follow my dream of writing a novel and The Wake Up and Dream Challenge has helped me stay motivated. At first, I was doubtful about the power of this book. I thought this was going to be another self-help book with all the usual, cliche advice. However, this book is not a cliche. After reading the first few pages, I was hooked. I read the whole book in one sitting and then felt exhilarated to follow my dreams ever since. This is an honest book with real life stories to keep you inspired to do whatever it is you are set in this world to do. This book also pushes you to pursue many facets of your life, which can be eye-opening and extremely rewarding. I love this book and I recommend it to anybody who wants to enrich their lives!
Feb 26, 2012"Disclaimer: Since we have 22 versions of the same book with each one benefiting a different cause, intern Melissa Toni will be copying the review to the 21 other versions, so that potential buyers can see the reviews as they come in." Written By Shula Friedrich Since I started reading your book last night, I have not been able to put it down. The vivid stories move me, make me cry & laugh at the same time. It is rare for me to find a serious professional book that is so absorbing that I feel compelled to read it cover to cover in one sitting. The writing is accessible & profound at the same time. Since I am nearing retirement, at first I felt that thinking about dreams & waking them up was absurd. My inner parent was saying to me, " Hey lady, you are done already." Thanks to your Dream Quotient Questionnaire, I was able to assess my Dream Potential. I learned that I have some work to do to develop a more positive inner dream parent. I also realized... More > that I need to allow myself to dream & plan for my future as a retired person. Just the thought of dreaming again fills me with energy & joy. Realizing how much I can do in spite of my age & being a grandmother is exciting & invigorating. Thank you for helping me plan for my future. S.
