"Persian Perils" Very enjoyable. The author has an effortless conversational writing style which makes for an easy read. His personal account of events in the late 1970's leading up to the Iranian revolution has helped consolidate my understanding of the Persian culture, the underlying political rhetoric and the uneasy co -existence of East and West. I particularly liked the photographs, his highly descriptive tours of the wonderful sites and cuisine. Finally, being someone who shares the author’s fascination for the human psyche, the story about how to cook a frog (p. 128) made me smile. Highly recommend this book.
