Why would anyone in their right mind want to write, or for that matter read a book that would encourage someone to start up or struggle onward in a business that’s caused or will cause them sleepless nights until they retire? Well, I guess you have to be someone who likes to help others, and someone who gets great enjoyment out of seeing others succeed at controlling their destiny.
In a previous life I worked as a commercial banker and tried to do just that – help businesses succeed.
In 2005, I started up The Business Toolbox and started conducting seminars for business associations, chambers of commerce and lenders. The feedback was more than positive.
Usually, like at any seminar, a number of participants stayed afterwards to ask questions. Many times the question was very simple: “Do you have this stuff written down somewhere?".. so I decided to do it.
