I have just finished listening to Bart Wolffe's wonderful story 'God's Own Country.' It is a very Rhodesian story and will be enjoyed enormously by anyone to whom standing barefoot on a 'duiweltjie' has painful meaning and to whom biltong is ordinary food. Listening to Bart's voice and accent for me has the same appeal as an old, much loved and comfortable armchair - or a camp chair beside the glowing coals of a red-thorn tree with the African sky above. I can thoroughly recommend this little story to anyone, not only to the nostalgic few of us that remember former days in God's own Country with great affection.
