Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) accounts for 80% to 90% of primary liver cancer. HCC is a major health problem worldwide, with an estimated incidence ranging between 500 000 and 1 000 000 new cases annually. The majority of HCC patients will be treated with palliative approaches to improve the resectability rate and prolong survival. TACE has been one of the most common and effective palliative approaches. According to the literature, very limited data are currently available regarding the molecular mechanism of TACE treatment for patients with HCC.
