In the final years of the second world war, tensions ran high and loyalties were tested. The loyalties of Karl Kleinmaur had been tested since his boyhood years, growing up unwanted by his widowed father and under the banners of the Third Reich. His loyalties to the Kleinmaur name, to Germany, and to the Fuhrer. It took the loss of his wife, the habitual abuses of his ranking Waffen-SS father and the role he was expected to play in the Nazi party to finally break those loyalties for good. When a woman with a hauntingly familiar face is processed through the camp he oversees, Karl fears that his resolve to aid the Allies will crumble. Trying to keep her alive and taking the necessary risks to liberate them all may prove too much to bear all at once. Unfortunately for Karl, failing means losing everything...and everyone.
