Alice Benson is eleven years old when she's sent to Camp Kenyon for a summer vacation. Her parents, always away on business, has a housekeeper, Carolyn Younger, who looks after Alice. She and Aice don't exactly hit if off. When Alice arrives at the camp, she can't understand why her parents would've sent her to a place like the camp but she makes the best of it. She meets the local sheriff when he comes out to investigate the murder of a man on the path leading to the woods on the camp grounds. She finds herself involved with murder, thievery,lies, deceit and betrayal. How she manages to help her friend, keep out of harms way, and find clues to bring the gang to justice is an exciting time for her.
