I met Ben in the park today. He's 91. I looked through his copy and heard all about how this book of 181 short stories and essay about New York & it;s happenings has EVERYONE in it. I can't wait to read his book.

This book is a fast read; and the stories are wonderful. Who knew that during the Great Depression an employer would give his employee a salary increase on January 1 with effect as of July 1? Who ever heard of such a thing? And the stories get better and better. A true immigrant makes good story. Horatio Alger couldn't have written it better.

Against the vibrant backdrop of New York City from the 30's on, and in the iconic tradiition of early 20th century super-heroes (a la the Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Klay), Ben Greenberger regales us with heartfelt tales of cutthroat typewriter repair business dealings, office support heroics and human nature, all while running the "help desk" of his time.
