Missionary doctor Melisa O’Malley, without aid or financial assistance, brings her disfigured ward Natalie from the Congo to the States for surgery. At the last minute the surgery is cancelled, leaving them alone, short of funds and in despair. By chance they encounter a shy and wealthy businessman, Jim MacArthur, who rescues them from a seedy motel and takes them into his home, bringing a new hope into their lives and his own. This is a simple and tender love story of hope and promise, giving and sharing. At the heart of the story is self doubt and naive innocence; of how the main characters, like all of us, have difficulty coming to grips with and expressing feelings. Most of all it is about love pure. The story is punctuated throughout with interesting and colorful characters portrayed through humor tinged vignettes.

"Melisa" This book is a must read!! The characters are charming and the evolution of their sweet, romantic relationship keeps the reader engaged. The writer delivered a touching story of a union of souls.

"Melissa " I received this book from a friend of the author's several months before reading it. When I finally got a chance to pick it up on a rare Sunday afternoon with nothing pressing to do, I didn't put it back down until I had finished it. It was a delightfully warm story just as was promised in the Forward, lacking the all too familiar graphic descriptions that are in most books these days. Laced with humor and compassion, it was a lovely way to spend my afternoon. Barbara Ward

"Melisa" What a refreshing read! The characters were so real and this is the kind of story that could be true, or at least like I wish to believe a love story to be. Heart and soul connections and finding your soul mate. I want more of this --- Terry
