Pygmalion is the story of how Henry Higgins, a professor of phonetics teaches Eliza, an
uneducated girl who sells flowers in a London street, to speak like the upper-class using correct grammar, proper vowel sounds and careful pronunciation. After some months of training, Higgins makes it possible for the girl to move up the social ladder into a different social class.
