I am a fan of travel journals. There is something about the mosaic layering of image and word, changing dates and changing sites that evokes the essence of armchair travel. This new book by Beth Camp is one of the best new books in this genre. The photographs alone are worth the price of admission. They are sharply focused and imaginatively framed in contrast to the evocative texture of Beth Camp's poetry. This is a travel memoir that goes to the interior of the traveler and discovers inner landscapes that match the complexity of the outer journey. I loved this book!
