All Psalms are in long meter, that is, 8.8.8.8 or in a common hymntune format, so they can be sung to more than 500 popular hymntunes. The Hebrew parallelism is replaced by rhyme and meter, thus making the text much shorter than a word-for-word translation while keeping all of the ideas mentioned in the original Hebrew. The brevity makes this version most appropriate for modern worship.
