The story that this book portrays, revolves around a life spent torn mainly between the two continents of Europe and Africa and bears witness to some brutal, and racist atrocities on both sides of the Atlantic during the 1980’s. The South African conflict started in the early 60’s earnestly with the events at Sharpville and the communist led black power movement under the guise of the ANC grew at an astounding rate from this event onwards. The atrocities were committed during the years of apartheid by all sides and then by the criminal syndicates that arose and grew in strength during the years of reconciliation, when the ANC eventually came to power in South Africa.

"A deadly existence" Having not read a book for sometime I was drawn in by the authors knowledge of Southern Africa and some of the gruesome realities of the recent bush conflict. His obvious attack on socialist values in the book seems beyond fiction and he has enhanced the plight of minority individual cultures and their right to survive. Some scenes in the book are splattered with humorous content that gives a relief from the harsh character he has created and some of the bloody exploits.

"A Deadly Existence" A great read and easy to take in the trauma of events that the writer portrays in the main characters life. Was worth reading but ended with a hanger. Is the second book coming soon I wonder as would like to see how Benjy ends up in life
