For Birdie Jaworski, life as an Avon Lady was a bittersweet mix of embarking on gossip-worthy adventures, searching for Mr. Right, and making emergency lotion requests in the middle of the night... while managing as a single parent. This collection of short stories—including “Mullet Madness,” “Fat Ass Evidence,” and “Wherein I Test a Product on an Animal”—captures Jaworski’s complicated relationship with the cosmetics giant (and her customers) and reveals a surprising and touching account of her personal life.

"Don't Shoot!" You will indeed laugh and cry - all at once. Having been a Birdie blog reader for a couple of years now, I knew SOME of what to expect. Now having devoured her book in just a couple of sittings, I loved the way she integrated her Avon stories with what was going on in the rest of her life. The book is a weaving of the real human condition with the absurdities that go with it. This is a book for those that love sometimes gritty, always truthful, real-life stories with a generous helping of hilarity.
"Don't Shoot!" You'll laugh! You'll cry!! I guarantee you'll want to hug the author!!! Yes, I know it just went on sale, but I've read the manuscript a time or two (or twelve) and can't wait to get my hands on the actual factual copy. Buy one for all your friends. It's a guaranteed good read! (Says Carroll, who cannot for the life of her figure out how to get the name to show after the "by" line!)
