Becoming Divine: Essays on Theosis in Honor of Father Alexander Men

ByBishop Seraphim Sigrist

Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
This book began with a lecture and discussion evening in honor of Fr Alexander Men. Fr Men was a central figure in the renewal of the Russian Orthodox Church and its mission, but his significance goes beyond Russia and Orthodoxy. He is one of those rare figures who can speak for and to all Christians. So universal were Fr Men's interests that almost any subject could fit a lecture in his name, but the anthology "Partakers of the Divine Nature" devoted to 'Theosis' edited by Dr. Michael Christensen , suggested a topic of sufficient breadth and depth to suit well a first Alexander Men lecture. Dr Christensen agreed to be our keynote speaker; in addition to his paper this volume includes essays from Michael Plekon, John N Perkins, Andrey Cherniak, Father Christopher of New Skete, John Chico Martin, John Bostwick, Bishop Seraphim Sigrist and poems from Richard Dauenhauer and Barbara Kelley. We believe this book is an extremely important meditation on this deepest area of Christian thought.
