Work days became a life transforming undertaking. Work days began as a challenge – “the only way you politicians can understand what is happening in schools is to teach in the classroom.” It transformed into a semester teaching a non-traditional course, not in civics, but in citizenship, “how to make government work for you.” For over thirty years and 408 on the job experiences, I learned about work, my fellow Floridians and myself. Work days were my distinguishing personal and political identification.
