The Baby and The Beast First and foremost I believe that for the author Brad Martin writing this book was easy. The hard part in my opinion was putting it online for people to read. Nothing is held back in his book. There are parts of the book that sexual situation are written about. They are not graphic, but they are there. Just a bit of a warning. If I went out to Vegas and would place a bet on how this guy would have turned out as an adult from what his brother did to him and some of the bullying he suffered. This is what I would have bet on The odds are as an adult Brad H. Martin will turn out hurting those he loves the most. More than likely in the same manner his brother hurt him. Simply put, Brat H. Martin beat the odds and is not a monster. He is a kind person who has dealt and still deals with his past on a daily basis. A bit of advice on how to read this book. Stay in the moment. Meaning don’t judge what is going on. “Living in the moment—also called mindfulness—is a state... More > of active, open, intentional attention on the present. When you become mindful, you realize that you are not your thoughts; you become an observer of your thoughts from moment to moment without judging them. Nov 1, 2008. Psychology Today” If you can accomplish this in my estimation you will get more out of this book because your values will not get in the way of what you think about Martin’s brother, and in some cases Brad Martin himself. This book is a must read for those who have children, work with children, or simply want to explore how someone survived having a monster for an older brother and is still living to talk about his experiences.< Less
