Written between the ages of 17 and 18, this sentimental project came to fruition after losing a close friend. Poetry in this collection is somber, reflective, skeptical and at times, manic. It contains glimpses into the stages of grief and the emotions a teenager goes through when being awoken to the harsher realities of living. This volume is much more mature and refined than my previous work, The Positivist. Although some poems seem rough around the edges, the overall body of work is very dear to me. It shows progress as a writer while leaving plenty of room to grow. Please consider this work to explore an emotionally-charged piece from a shaken and vulnerable young me. From the original description: This anthology is a document of my growth in a time of great change. In the past couple of years, I witnessed life-changing events in the aftermath of which I experienced the molting of youth into the skin of adulthood.
