Easy to learn, easy to teach. The Dark Refuge universe has so much variety that it's possible to cater to any taste in storyline. Vampires, Aliens, Mafia style gangsters, Mechs, Gunslingers and more. Mix and match to suit the style of your gaming group. Build a campaign from just the core book, or add some extra spice from the expansions. With the introduction of the 'Do cool Stuff' rule(TM Dark Refuge Games) it makes it even easier to create a fun, interactive, and immersive story. Because you're not constantly looking up stats and doing computations, it's easy to stay in character and keep the game moving. Personally, I've been playing for about 5years now, and there's never a dull moment.

"Easily one of the best games I've ever played" Finally a role playing game that really remembers the whole point is to have fun and to never let rules get in the way. The system is flexible and very deep but never gets in the way. The world is well thought out and in some ways depressingly realistic even as it’s as fantastic as any other game out there. This really isn’t a game meant for kids but any teens or adults how have player RPGs or want to try should really give this game a look.

"The Most Complete Game I've Ever Played" Dark Refuge is with out a doubt the most complete and well thought out RPG I've ever played. The character creation system is simple and encourages customization. Character progression requires no tables and is very satisfying. The in-game mechanics encourage resourceful role playing and feel very natural. The universe in which Dark Refuge takes place is rich with many races, religions and factions. Dark Refuge's creator has even found a plausible way for high technology and magic (Leyas) to co-exist. But perhaps the best feature of the game is how with one exception it's completely classless. A warrior may use Leyas (magic) and an adept (mage) can strap on field plate and grab a sword. With the exception of technology a Leyas user can quite literally use any weapon they want and whatever Leyas abilities they want. If you want to be a gunslinger, sniper, drive a tank or fly a jet then your character would be an immutable. Immutables... More > represent (Humans who can use technology) a very small percent of the Dark Refuge Universe's inhabitants which makes them all the more important in armies, police forces and adventuring groups. I would recommend Dark Refuge to anyone who is tired of having to 'level up' their characters, thinks magic users should be able to kick ass in a physical sense or to beginning gamers who feel intimidated by tables and charts.< Less

"Godswords:Saga of the Bladed Sun" B. G. Osorio's creative brilliance is refreshing and exciting. Every reader can relate on some level; literal, philosophical, ethical, etc. Whether you are into history, genres, future/sci-fi, religion, group dynamics or just adventure and possibilities, you will find this book a compelling read. Can't wait for #2- "The Day the Earth Died". I can already envision this world on the big screen.
