In INERTIA: Seven Principles of Leadership in Motion, professional speaker and trainer Brandon Walker explains how the ideas that define the physical laws of inertia may be applied to dynamic, effective leadership. Objects in motion tend to stay in motion, while objects at rest tend to stay at rest. The heart of leadership lies in the leader’s ability to generate positive, forward motion in people’s lives and to continue to influence those people throughout their journey.
Using a combination of pop-culture illustrations (everything from Battlestar Galactica to Frank Sinatra) and personal anecdotes, Brandon defines each of the seven leadership principles (Intent, Necessity, Energy, Resilience, Trust, Imagination, and Authenticity) and explains how to apply them to one’s own leadership experience.

"INERTIA" INERTIA – A fun, quick read with a powerful punch. The author has a disarmingly friendly style which draws you into the work. You feel as if you are sitting there and listening to him spin the tale. Tying the title acronym to the physics of inertia is simply perfect. The examples used in each chapter have been carefully selected to bring significance to the message. They are up-to-date and relevant. How metaphorically correct is a shattered crystal to the realization that a sacred trust has been broken. The rubber band ball is a creative vehicle to emphasize the concept of resiliency upon failure. The book is full of this imagery. My compliments to Brandon Walker and my highest recommendation to anyone who is looking for a very fresh and insightful look at leadership.
