The Autumn Leaves Have Fallen

This is a collection of verse modelled on the ancient traditional Japanese poetic forms of tanka and haiku. The themes explored range from love and family, to the passing of the seasons and scenes from daily life. Each poem seeks to utilise these ancient poetic forms to articulate contemporary, though universally human, experience. The volume begins with a brief introduction to tanka and haiku, their history, and cultural and literary significance.
