The author covers mostly covers the more established banking centers in Caribbean and European countries, but there are a few Asian and Latin American countries that are known for advantageous bank laws covered as well. In these uncertain times, most people automatically think of tax evasion when the subject of international banking arises, but the perfectly legal possibility of converting your investment and savings into other currencies may be a good hedge against a falling dollar. The book is marketed to US and Canadian audiences, so legally some of the suggestions might mean different things to different people, especially those in Europe, for instance. Therefore, do not act on his word without checking your tax status with a knowledgeable source.

I spent about two weeks just skipping through different chapters in this book, and I don't regret it. It's like cruising through a buffet of food that you really like and are excited to try. Then I sat down and read it cover to cover. I learned a lot, I appreciated the perspective that it presented, and I am much more prepared for my future move offshore. A good tool for those of us that love our friends, family, and future but deplore many of our own government actions.
