"Suprisingly dreamy for a filthy suicide" Judging this book by its cover, one would probably assume that it was written by a toddler with a Trix-problem. Far from it, friends. This book has it all -- and most of it is dripping in chunks from the ceiling. The book follows the journey of Darren Fishy, a sleep-walking, adolescent boy who has unwittingly killed his father after mistaking him for cow in his dream. Just how little "wit" Darren has remains to be seen, as the events that surround his life thereafter are almost always covered in blood, humor and/or illicit drugs. While most authors use such aspects to drive a weak and often pointless story, Kamerer uses them to inject an already pulsating plotline with a mind-shivering pace that would force even Bret Easton Ellis to stop and catch his breath. And the ending, well, let me just say that I've never experienced one quite like it, and while it made me sad to put down the book, I was also slightly relieved to be... More > out of Darren's head. It's almost like an addiction. Excellent book, though, and I would recommend it to anyone who hates bullshit, reality, and bad writing. I would, however, not recommend it to anyone with a heart condition or a stick up their ass; trust me, this book is only going to make that stick hurt more.< Less

"Dreamy Filthy Hooray!" A friend of mine recommended this book to me, and trusting in his good taste, I ordered it off of Lulu. I was not dissappointed. The story is original and fast-paced, and the cast of dysfunctional teenage miscreants keeps you entertained for the whole 110 pages. A great start for a young author, and something with definite re-read value. I don't own any other books quite like it, and I'll be looking forward to more from Brian Kamerer in the future.
