Great book. Gives you a good impression of what it's like to live and teach in South Korea. A must-read for all prospective and current English teachers in South Korea.

This book is very informative, entertaining, and humorous. I really squirmed through the descriptions of the foods--especially the live octopi and the suction cups sticking to the insides of your mouth--ewe. I'm a very basic American eater, after all. If dating in the U.S, I would say the garlic probably is not the best way to lure a girl in . . . but I love the descriptions of the cultural differences and your zest and your beliefs in the areas of politics and the historical basis for why Koreans believe the way they do. History is important in understanding so many things. If anyone were to ever want or need a true cultural perspective of Korea, especially from an American's viewpoint, this is the book. However, the author's eyes are rarely green; they are brown, sometimes green, sometimes even gray . . .

"Very nice. I like the short-story format. It makes it easier for those of us that are not novel readers. Food is life and you introduce us many types. I am a home boy but you do a nice job of taking me there with detail and humor."

I really enjoyed it! A foreingner in Korea, the combination conjures up very funny situations. Its very interesting, like listening to a friend narrate his adventure of a lifetime.

I really liked it. It made me laugh quite a few times, and i learned a lot while reading it. and it wasnt like one of those nonfiction snorefest things. it was easy to read and easy to stay interested.
