    Hell of a read.

"Market Forces" This is an excellent read, fast-paced and set within the world of the stock exchange and higher echelons of banking, but easily understandable by those with no previous knowledge. The characters are well written and I warmed to the main characters despite my own very different background. The plot holds no huge surprises, but somehow that doesn't matter - probably because the reader is so engaged with the characters. The only flaw is the lack of proof-reading. 'Loose' was used for 'lose' throughout. 'Lead' was used for 'led', and other such mistakes, and there were one or two instances of incorrect use of apostrophes. All of which were irritating and not to be expected in a book of this calibre. I also thought the apology in the foreword was unnecessary. The book does not seem dated in any way and I do not think the author needs to point out that the internet has moved on. Nonetheless, I will certainly be looking for more books by this author.

"Market Forces - an excellent read" A thoroughly exciting read from beginning to end. The plot was an informed spin on an interesting time and economic conditions in the late 1990's, the characters were well developed and sympathetic. Although the plot was slightly formulaic - it was well written and creative at all times. Plus elements of humour in Mr. Cairnduff's writing added to my enjoyment of the plot. I agree with a previous reviewer (Janice Scott) that the lack of editing was frustrating, especially in light of the quality of the writing. This book is another example of an author who should be published in a wider forum; the writing, plot-line and character development is better than most of the fodder which is churned out by some of the more established thriller writers
