"We were born divine,
But somewhere between
flying and drowning,
We forgot our worth.
Today,
We will ignite our wings,
Dance in the flames,
Smoke our skin until it brailles into freedom.
Get high off of living for ourselves.
Then, we will finally be close to the gods."
"In the Name of Finding Home” is a book of poems exploring identities of sexuality, ethnicity, race, class, and culture. This book consists of poems that explore and challenge different identities. This collection of poem is a scattered stories about the author's journey in which he attempts to find a home inside of his skin after feeling alienated in it by society. Homes are places where we worships our gods. There is a god inside of us, so our skin is our home. We now need to learn how to worship our body, mind, and soul like we do our gods.
