Ossana, Italy, is a small town of about 700 full-time residents in the Dolomites, north of Milan. This collection of photographs was taken during a three-week stay in August of 2008. I present these images as a description of the vernacular, both social and architectural, the landscape, and their apparent reciprocity. Texture and form are the product of ingenuity, extreme climate, and local material. Also included are intentionally candid photographs of friends and family, first as a further glimpse into this area’s terrains, and second as an invitation for you to join us on our trip.
